IBM undoubtedly the most innovative computer (and only) company in the global industry. However, this article will describe a record number of Nobel prizes, which owns the American company and will focus on a specific computer area where IBM Thinkpad and their series were not only pioneers, but until recently and sole leaders such as technology and quality. These are mobile graphics tablet (laptop). The first tablet laptops are available from IBM back in 1993 and these are models Thinkpad 750P / 360P. This article will present one of the best tablets of the IBM / Lenovo – model Thinkpad X61 Tablet, which is the last graphics tablet, bearing the logo of IBM. Not describe well again shell and excellent keyboard on this model, because it just did it in the review of the Thinkpad X60, which is not a tablet, but is quite similar in design and assembly. The first “Chromebook” of Samsung – 5 Series model now on sale in the U.S. market. The device runs an operating system Google Chrome OS. According to information announed from the Samsung website, the option of 3G module costs $ 499. The Chromebook currently available only in online stores Gilt, but after two weeks and will appear in major retail chains.

The Taiwanese manufacturer Asus has demonstrated ultra-thin laptop, which attracted huge interest from the all computer and technology world. In appearance and features UX21 model competes 11.6 inch MacBook Air, considered the thinnest laptop in the market. UX21 stepping CPU Core i7 Sandy Bridge, weighs 1.1 kg and thickness not more than 17 mm. Configuration includes disk SSD SATA III interface ports and USB 3.0.
The body of the notebook is made of aluminum alloy. Available with touch panel glass and metal are all keys.
The model is able to spend in sleep mode all week. Technology developed by Asus wakes UX21 only 2 seconds.
UX21 will be available in September. The price of ultra-thin laptop is not yet announced.

Miniature pocket-sized computers are trying to achieve market penetration. The newest model in the segment is D2 Plug, created by the company Globalscale. The device has negligible dimensions – 170×82x33 mm, but supports HD video and 3D graphics, reports the manufacturer. This is a computer that can be incorporated into the outlet and hang on the wall. The D2 Plug platform builds on Marvell PXA510, which has not yet been officially announced by the developer. It is based on a processor similar to the ARM Cortex-A8 (ARMv7), and supports hardware acceleration of HD video (1080p).
The computer shows impressive results when working with 3D graphics to 25 MTPS (million triangles per second). Moreover, D2 Plug consumes only 2 watts.
Tiny PC includes 1GB DDR3 RAM and flash-based drive with a capacity of 8 gigabytes. Available slot for memory cards format SD and full set of interfaces, including. eSATA, two USB 2.0, gigabit ethernet, HDMI and VGA. D2 Plug running the operating system Ubuntu Linux 10.4, or Android 2.2 Froyo. Available at a price of 249 dollars.

Acer has launched in Europe updated line of notebook family Aspire TimelineX. Step models of mobile platform Intel Huron River. The line includes 13.3-inch model 3830T, 4830T 14-inch and 15.6-inch 5830T. All have LED backlighting (LED) and maintained resolution 1366×768 pixels. Acer focuses on long battery life. The new Aspire TimelineX withstand up to 9 hours of battery, which is all day.
The notebooks Core processors rely on second-generation memory to 8 GB, HDD 750 GB SSD or 120 GB, Intel HD integrated graphics accelerator 3000 or GeForce 500M. The configurations also include a DVD burner, card reader, network controller Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, 1,3-megapixel camera, but as optional module Bluetooth 3.0. The new Aspire TimelineX come preloaded with operating system Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit). Prices start at 649 EUR.

The internet giant Google has introduced a new version of its mobile operating system. Android Ice Cream Sandwich is called to eliminate the main shortcoming of the platform – its fragmentation, it was clear at yesterday’s conference “Google I / O Day”. The universal Ice Cream Sandwich system will not work on smartphones, tablets and netbooks. The appearance of the new OS looks like a tablet version of Android 3.0 Honeycomb. New features are face recognition and voice, chamber devices with Ice Cream Sandwich will focus on the user depending on his shift.
The operating system will launch in the fourth quarter of 2011. Google has agreements with companies of the Open Handset Alliance to update all new devices to the latest version of Android in at least one and a half. Thus, Google will solve the problem of fragmentation.
Meanwhile Google released Android 3.1. Update is available for users of Tablet Motorola Xoom, who are subscribers of the operator Verizon in the U.S.. The new version supports USB devices like mouse, keyboard, gamepad, etc.

Google world flooded with announcements about new products and services in the last two days. During the I / O conference Internet giant announced new versions of operating system Android, netbooks with Chrome OS, cloud music service and more. Google ’surprise, however, is nettop PC running management Chrome OS – the first of its kind in the world. The nettop will be produced by Samsung. Still no details on the technical characteristics of the device. It is assumed that its parameters are not much different from the netbook based Chrome OS.
Called Chromebox, the nettop is oriented for home and office where the user can connect to the device comfortable large display. Date marketing and price of nettops are not known. According to rumors on the Internet, Chromebox will be released on 20th June. Chrome OS operating system is designed to work with Web-based applications. Some of them will be available offline, such as Gmail, Google Docs and Calendar, and various entertainment programs.

Lenovo will release a laptop next week ultrathin ThinkPad X1, it is clear from the video circulated on the Internet. Sales of the new model will begin on May 17, the cost will range around $ 3,000, according to various online sources.

The Taiwanese manufacturer MSI has announced gaming laptop with colorful keyboard. GX780 model has been developed together with SteelSeries and reported whims of gamers. The keyboard is more robust than other laptops and features an unusual location of the keys. For example, the Windows key was moved to the bottom right, to avoid accidentally pressing during the game. Ctrl and Alt do are greater, as often used in shooters. The most characteristic feature of the keyboard backlight, however, with 30 different colors. Users can choose multiple operating modes, incl. illuminate only certain keys – such as W, A, S, D and Ctrl. MSI GX780 comes with a 17.4-inch screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 or 1600×900 pixels. Laptop relies on 4-core processor Intel Core i7-2630QM with 2 GHz clock speed and memory capacity to 16 GB. The graphics performance is provided by the video card Nvidia GeForce GT 555M with 1 GB of memory. The hard disk can have a capacity of 640 GB to 1,5 TB. The configuration includes an optical drive Blu-ray or DVD, stereo speakers and a webcam. Available modules are Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi, Port USB, USB 3.0 and HDMI.

Nokia plans to launch a tablet PC with touch screen in the autumn of this year. It was not immediately notify the technical characteristics and operating system device. It is assumed that the tablet will work under the management of Symbian or renewed MeeGo.
