AMD chipsets will support USB 3.0

Two of AMD chipset for PCs have received certification for the standard USB 3.0, said the forum in the implementation of USB (USB-IF). This is an important step to promote high-speed standard, because so far only solutions for external companies provide support for USB 3.0 on the platforms of Intel and AMD. The certified chipsets are AMD A75 FCH (also known as Hudson-D3) and AMD A70M FCH (Hudson-M3). They are designed respectively for desktop and mobile PCs with fast processors AMD Llano, which combines a silicon crystal CPU and GPU. Each of the two chipset supports up to four port USB 3.0 SuperSpeed with a maximum theoretical speed for data transmission 4.8 gigabits per second, which is 10 times more than USB 2.0. Recently, Intel introduced its own high-speed interface Thunderbolt, which has raised concerns among industry that Intel will turn our back to standard USB 3.0. Intel, however, argues that two interfaces will coexist, and promised to build in USB 3.0 support in its chipsets.
