Micron Technology has released the first models of memory RLDRAM third generation. They met in high technology with bandwidth, which provides more efficient data transmission network. The RLDRAM memory is designed for high performance networking applications, including. routers and hubs of high class, requiring high speed read / write. Micron launched RLDRAM 3 as suitable for 40 – and 100-Gigabit Ethernet solutions, packet buffering, and tables of correspondences.
The new drive has a high speed – up to 2133 megabits per second, low latency for random access – to 10 nanoseconds, and consume only 1.35 watts.
Mass production of RLDRAM 3 will begin in the second half. Drivers to enter this type of memory are online services such as IPTV and video on demand, mobile applications, and cloud services.

The new Cray supercomputer combines central processor (CPU) and AMD’s graphics processors (GPU) of Nvidia. The model builds on the Cray XK6 AMD Bulldozer chips and Nvidia Tesla, the manufacturer said. The supercomputer uses internal circuit Cray Gemini, known for systems Cray XE6, 16-core AMD Opteron processors 6200 and Nvidia Tesla GPU 20. Hybrid system can offer over 50 petaflops performance. Available unified development environment for software x86/GPU, which includes tools such as libraries, compilers and utilities. The supercomputer running the operating system Cray Linux Environment. Cray XK6 has been commissioned by the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS).
Cray XK6 can be converted into Cray XT4, Cray XT5, Cray XT6 and Cray XE6. Deliveries of the new supercomputer will begin in the second half of the year.

Seagate marketed 3.5-inch hard drive with a capacity of 3 terabytes (TB). Barracuda XT model eliminates the need to modernize the system to overcome the limitations of memory, says the manufacturer. It is known that older BIOS operating systems like Windows XP does not support drives with a capacity exceeding 2,1 TB. Such a possibility is revealed when using devices with interface Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI), developed by IBM, which however is poorly distributed.
Barracuda XT disc overcomes the limitation of using free software Seagate DiscWizard, which adjusts the operating system so as to have access to the entire 3-terabyte space under Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7. The Japanese manufacturer Hitachi marketed slimmest hard drive for laptops. TravelStar Z5K500 is “fat” only 7 mm, but it offers impressive capacity of 500 GB. The model is implemented in 2.5-inch form factor and works with the speed of the spindle 5400 rpm. There are 8 MB of cache and Technology Advanced Format, which improves efficiency in the allocation of disk space. TravelStar Z5K500 a SATA-interface and consumes 1.8 watts in active use. Mechanical parts of the device generates only 2.1 dB noise. The first laptops with new disc will appear on the market early next year. The price of the model are not reported. Hitachi holds the current record for the slim hard drive. Its 320-gigabyte model has a thickness of only 9.5 mm.
