Seagate Technology, one of the two leading manufacturers of hard drives, put on sale 2.5-inch drive for laptops with capacity of 470 gigabytes. Model of second-generation Momentus XT is the fastest drive in the mobile consumer through the company. It is a hybrid device that combines magnetic plates and flash memory (SSD). Technology Adaptive Memory usage scenarios recognize the disk and the user moves the most frequently used data in flash memory for faster access.
Momentus XT is 70% faster than the previous generation of Seagate hard drives and up to 3 times faster than traditional hard disks (magnetic plate) with the same capacity, according to the manufacturer. Built-in flash memory capacity 8GB has a structure of cells at one level (Single Level Cell), which increases the reliability of the device. The price of the new drive is about $ 245.
