The laptops gradually cease to be a luxury product, unattainable for most households. This contributes to better market segmentation, and inexpensive mass production of Chinese factories, switching to more economical processes. Certainly decreased significantly and the quality of the hull, keyboard, cooling system, etc. Ever had a laptop mainly for corporate clients and series Thinkpad, Latitude, Tecra, LifeBook were uncompromising quality. This article will not discuss in detail the low grade laptops, and problems associated with their operation. There is enough material on the Internet forums about the problems of low-cost Satellite, Inspiron, Pavilion (AMD-series), Amilo and others. authorizing a series of major manufacturers. HP is among the largest and most reputable manufacturers of laptops – Laptops series of the American company can claim to best in class. For example HP Compaq series for the corporate market there is competition from last successful IBM Thinkpad T60 and less adequate for Lenovo Thinkpad T61, since 2006 no real konkuerntsiya the corporate market. HP Compaq Mobile Workstation no competition among graphic laptops, with the exception of certain models of DELL and Lenovo. HP’s achievements in the class of gamers laptops are definitely proven after the emergence of 20-inch HDX9000-series (Dragon). HP’s obviously lacking a clear-cut middle-class consumer laptops, which is similar to a successful series of Vostro DELL. Need for the emergence of new series of laptops from HP was imposed after compromising consumer Pavilion series of mass defective chip-sets AMD-modifications, and the marriage of video nuclei of NVidia (mainly 8th-Series). Disputed Pavilion series, however survived, except for much criticism for some of the products have an inheritance and very positive feedback. Change the look of HP’s consumer class began with the emergence of a new elite class HP Elitebook – really great laptops, combines the best of HP Compaq and HP Pavilion.

Our test laboratory is visiting a small jewel of Hewlett-Packard, Netbook HP Mini-Note PC. The first thing that grabs our attention is the incredible design – a style and beauty, so absent of netbooks for Asus, Acer, MSI and others known and unknown Asian manufacturers. Not that HP 2133 is manufactured in Asian factories, but were obviously put a lot of money for design and construction, as could only afford a company like HP. The hull is aluminum and it is not a thin plastic coating on – particularly on the basis of the HP 2133 was used rather aluminum material in contact creates the impression of solidity and a pleasant hladnina rugged metal housing. Upper surface of the netbook is also coated with aluminum as the metal is polished to a shine, but has the characteristic bands of raw material. Very stylish looks cut in the metal of the HP logo on the upper hull. The color of the HP 2133 is not trivial silver-gray, but with warmer hues. Opening the laptop, our attention was immediately drawn to the keyboard with large buttons, to bring all functional buttons. Working with the keyboard even more comfortable to work with complete laptop – so interesting how a small area is set so comfortable keyboard. The secret of the big keyboard is touch-fall, which is very elongated, but no buttons located underneath a classic, and from countries, which released a lot of space for your keyboard.

Again, the fight is between high-end machines, mobile graphics platform against the tabletop. On one side is the powerful desktop DELL Precision 670 with two separate processors XEON HT to incredible 3.40GHz. The second major contender is a graphical mobile station HP Compaq nw9440 with real dual-core Intel Core2Duo T7600 of 2.16HGz with 4MV cache. The battle is between the two professional video card machines – Precision 670 is presented with a Quadro FX3400, Quadro FX1500 video card is a HP Compaq nw9440.
To review more interest, including three in the test laptop, including two graphic stations (HP Compaq nw8440, HP Compaq nw8000) and a business laptop with a graphics card other than chip-set (HP Compaq nc6230).

After review of IBM ThinkPad R50p, again I give the event a workstation to test high grade. So far I had not met most of the powerful Intel Centrino 2.13GHz – the feeling of power is amazing, this is perhaps the most productive single-core processor in many applications lags far behind its dual-core processors and even lower middle class. Memory is DDR2, Hard disk – SATA, which offers opportunities for serious and very economical upgrades. The laptop is available with all modern functions – DVD-RW, BlueTooth, CardReader, 54Mbit Wi-Fi (Intel 2200BG). Extremely powerful stereo speakers with crystal clear, knows why put in a graphic station. Display with incredible resolution and wide format – 1920h1200! However, unlike IBM ThinkPad matrix is TN, viewing angles are among the best of this kind. The unique feature of the laptop is PCI-E video card which is working ATI FireGL V5000. Despite its focus on 3D, CAD / CAM design, the laptop is suitable for almost any modern game. (more…)

After testing several professional graphics stations, our new office received a very modern, beautiful and good quality machine – HP dv5000 (with modification Core Duo, NVidia GeForce 7400, Altec Lansing sound). Construction has nothing to do with performances by 1300lv expensive. of known and unknown companies like MSI, Turbo-X, Asus, Gigabyte, Acer … lowest class of Toshiba, HP, DELL. Strong and solid plastic, a quality display with good angles, quiet cooling, durable battery. Lots of extras on the model can be found on the Internet, but I most impressed me a remote control panel – very beautiful and stylish, comfortable control of the laptop for quite a long distance. This is extra good because unlike other laptops, the sound system in the dv5000 is hard-level – a powerful and rich sound from Altec Lansing. Screen unlike previous models are not professional shine with a professional or a colossal matrix resolution, but there are very good viewing angles, the coverage makes it a perfect picture, where no direct sunlight (typical for a glossy coating). After IBM Thinkpad R50p and HP nw8240, our “test laboratory” graphic next visit (work) station of HP. The parameters are similar to those of the IBM Thinkpad R50p.To review more interesting, in a direct duel will Resisting HP nw8000, Centrino-winner of the battle – Toshiba Tecra M3. I miss the description of the qualities of individual series of major manufacturers – both machines are very good quality and the highest grade for its time – strong, reliable, made very expensive and claims to be the top in its class. Housing, design and ergonomics. HP nw8000 body is pretty thick and this little uncomely, but it takes account of powerful speakers, CPU coolers and solid productivity professional graphics card, and … FDD. Toshiba Tecra M3 is a classic Japanese-style design – very elegant forms, which are preserved even in the latest dual-core Tecra. Cover the lid of the Tecra M3 is a metal arm and gives coldness pleasant to the touch. There are many holes in the bottom of Toshiba – better CPU cooling and powerful NVidia graphics processor. Both have a joystick laptop – great respect for the Thinkpad from IBM, but unlike his voluntary role in the awkward nw8000, Tecra M3 has almost approached the benchmark of the IBM Thinkpad. The keyboard on Toshiba also resembles that of the Thinkpad and is almost as enjoyable, while that of HP is a bit “dry” and rather tends to DELL. Toshiba is out with a little touchpad, which react less inert – if HP is almost everything perfectly. (more…)

The body is mainly made of metal, which, after hundreds of plastic models made me extremely impressed. Alone know how I am impressed by the articles in front of the composite hull IBM Thinkpad. Everything here is mostly metallic, very high quality and stylishly constructed. This is undoubtedly the most beautiful seen from my laptop. Interesting patterns from a new HP Pavilion series are available on the metallic housing. Hinge of the rotating touch-screen display is also very solid metal – there is no slack. Light is underway between the two parts – a display and lower body in the closed position due to the diligence of the engineers to make universal bilateral fastening. HP Pavilion tx1250 is the lightest of laptops, but this is due to the heavy and reliable material from which it was prepared. Dimensions themselves are very compact. Hardware. “The heart of the tx1250 is Mobile DualCore AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-56 1.8Ghz processor. Processor that powered the large 17-inch Pavilion dv9000 and I think it is unnecessary for a powerful mini-laptop. Video system is based on the NVidia GeForce Go 6150 64MB (288MB Turbo Cache). Video card is doing quite well with their tasks – from more modest games to decode the HD format (which decoding is done mainly by a powerful processor as cards with hardware support for HD are 8th series of NVidia up). The platform is based on the highly successful and reliable NForce 430. Stability of the platform very close to that of the Centrino Duo machine, so as big manufacturers like HP is such a trusted system. (more…)

The LCD monitors in stores are becoming less expensive, but increasingly poor. Illusory opinion is that a little money can have the real LCD monitor with good parameters. According to the unrealistic and aggressive marketing techniques, new monitors are increasingly low response (in ms.) Ever higher levels of contrast. As a person with experience in working with multiple monitors, I would definitely emotionally these marketing techniques and gimmicks such as lies and speculation. On the other hand, however, marketing departments skillfully use alternative methods of reporting response (levels of gray, rather than switching from white to black) and announced to the contrast is different from the standard indicators. The difference is really shocking and TN + film monitor failed catastrophically when directly compared to PVA / MVA or S-IPS monitor. The lack of real and full color with TN + film monitor is detrimental not only to designers and artists, but for each user. Lack of full range of colors and good contrast levels, viewing angles forces the brain to exert to compensate for the lack of contrast of colors and gradations. You know how a person with bad eyesight suffers from constant headaches, because his brain tries to compensate for incomplete or distorted visual information, this case is analogous. People working with TN + film matrix is tiring within 2-3 hours, while designers and artists with professional PVA / MVA or S-IPS displays no problem working over ten hours (when they need). From personal experience I can share that after 5-6 hours of regular work TN monitor I feel very tired while using S-PVA, S-IPS monitors without problems even if I can stand 15 hours before the monitor. The longest I’ve worked with PVA monitor DELL (1905FP), but the greatest pleasure I felt the work of HP 2035 (S-IPS). (more…)
